A New 10-bore Signalling Cannon – “The Thames”
A signalling gun of new design built for optimal effect to provide noise, flash and smoke for the starting of yacht and athletic races or firing salutes for celebratory occasions.
Utilising the aesthetic designs of the 19th Century, together with 21st Century materials, manufacturing and reliability, this breech-loading cannon provides safe, easy use for the discerning operator afloat or ashore.
The 450mm steel barrel, proved to CIP standards, fires a 10-bore blank cartridge (8 or 4 drams black powder, dependent on desired effect). The breech mechanism gives reliable, safe operation and is fired by lanyard. The steel carriage provides stability and ease of placement. All parts are blued for environmental resilience but can also be produced in stainless steel or bronze as required. Overall length 555 mm, width 150 mm, height 170 mm. Cleaning and maintenance regimes are simple to provide long service and reliability.
